LILY SEARS

Lily Sears is a horn player and teacher from Fairbanks, Alaska and is currently based in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Lily has played with many orchestras around the country, including the Jackson Symphony Orchestra (MI), the Adrian Symphony Orchestra (MI), the Spokane Symphony (WA), the Yakima Symphony Orchestra (WA), the Mid-Columbia Symphony (WA), the Wenatchee Symphony Orchestra (WA), the Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra (AK), and as a guest principal with the Michigan Philharmonic (MI).

Lily received her bachelor’s degree in Horn Performance from Central Washington University in 2023, studying under Dr. Jeffrey Snedeker. In 2025, she completed her master’s degree in Horn Performance from the University of Michigan, where she studied with Professors Adam Unsworth and Bryan Kennedy.

KYLE OLSEN

Kyle Olsen is a freelance horn player and educator currently based in Ypsilanti, Michigan. 

As an orchestral musician, Kyle is currently third horn in the Livonia Symphony Orchestra (MI) and Assistant Principal of the Oakland Symphony Orchestra (MI). Kyle also frequently as a substitute with orchestras across Michigan and Ohio including the Flint, Saginaw, Midland, Adrian, and Warren symphonies among others. 

In addition to orchestral playing, Kyle frequently plays other types of gigs all throughout Southeast Michigan and Northwest Ohio including for churches, musicals, graduations, weddings and more with groups ranging from full bands and orchestras to solo performances. Kyle also enjoys playing with his brass quintet, the Fifth Valve Brass Quintet, and other chamber groups including the newly formed Brio Horn Quartet in a variety of settings across the region.

MITCHELL HEMME

Mitchell Hemme is a hornist and composer hailing from Metro Detroit and currently based in Bowling Green, Ohio.

Mitchell’s primary focus on the horn is performing solo repertoire and operatic works. As a composer, Mitchell writes for solo instruments, orchestra and horn ensembles and has had some of his horn music performed by the Bowling Green Horn Club.

Mitchell currently studies with Dr. Andrew Pelletier at Bowling Green State University where he is finishing his requirements to earn his bachelor’s degree in horn performance.

WILL SCHNEIDER

Will Schneider is a hornist, improviser and composer currently based in Toledo, Ohio.

As a freelancer, Will has performed with large ensembles including the Midland Symphony (MI), Saginaw Bay Symphony (MI), Adrian Symphony (MI) and Toledo Concert Band (OH). Notably, Will performed with the Johnny Mathis orchestra in 2025 just before the legendary singer’s retirement.

Will’s specialization, however, remains in improvised music, performing with the Parts and Labor Big Band, Third Shore Collective, BTW Dan, BIRDOG, Trio Voce, The Rouge Dectet and the Will Schneider Trio--many of which Will directs and/or composes for.
